The happiest...

The nicest Grandfather, Hughes McKee, came up to me and said, "I'm not sure if anyone has told you this today, but you are beautiful." He was the happiest 84 year old man I have ever met. He lives in Indiana and grew up in Ohio and has visited all continental states except Maine and Alaska. I asked if he had always been so happy and he said yes because "nothing really matters."

Joshua 1:9

Today I met Dave, a Marine Corps League member with the kindest eyes and nicest smile. He’s visiting from AZ with two of his league members, two men who were 92 and 96 years old, both still driving to make all meetings. The 96 year old retired from USMC after 36 years of service, he fought in WW2, Korea and Vietnam. Dave gave me a wonderful gold challenge coin with USMC and the EGA on one side and the other a verse from Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

My cousin Josh started bootcamp this week in Parris Island, I know Dave gave me this coin to pass along to him.

A grandfather & the Korean War

A grandfather who fought in the Korean War was here to watch his grandson graduate. He was the only person in this mans family to join the military aside from himself. He bought a flag from me and we proceeded to chat. He shared with me that the Korean War was the first war the US had entered into with the intention of NOT winning. Every other war since, has been the same. He was such a sweet and kind man. With only one flag left to sell, he actually went into the stands and found my last customer for me during graduation.
